Connections allow you to seamlessly access data from third-party data sources (Databricks, Apache Spark, Snowflake, Amazon S3, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Maria DB.) You can create as many connections as you require in the Virtualitics AI Platform.
Creating a Connection
To create a Connection:
- Click Connections in the left toolbar of the Virtualitics AI Platform.
- If you don't yet have any connections configured, click Create a Connection.
- In the window that opens, under Select a Connection, choose a data source. Follow the instructions below for your selected data source.
Databricks
- Enter a Connection Name.
- Enter the Access Token.
- Enter the Server Host Name.
- Enter the HTTP Path.
- If applicable, enter any specifications within Spark Config.
- If applicable, enter any Extra Jars.
- If applicable, enter any Extra variables to be considered as part of this connection.
- Choose the Connection Type:
- Private: Other members of your organization cannot access this connection.
- Shared: Other members of your organization can access and edit this connection.
- Click Save.
Apache Spark
- Enter a Connection Name.
- Enter the Spark Master URI.
- If applicable, enter any specifications within Spark Config.
- If applicable, enter any Extra JARs.
- Choose the Connection Type:
- Private: Other members of your organization cannot access this connection.
- Shared: Other members of your organization can access and edit this connection.
- Click Save.
Snowflake
- Enter a Connection Name.
- Enter your Account Name.
- Enter your Snowflake Username.
- Enter your Snowflake Password.
- If applicable, enter the Role.
- If applicable, enter a Warehouse.
- If applicable, enter the Database.
- If applicable, enter the Schema.
- If applicable, enter any Extra variables to be considered as part of this connection.
- Choose the Connection Type:
- Private: Other members of your organization cannot access this connection.
- Shared: Other members of your organization can access and edit this connection.
- Click Save.
Amazon S3
- Enter a Connection Name.
- Enter the AWS Access Key ID.
- Enter your AWS Secret Access Key.
- If applicable, enter the Region Name.
- If applicable, enter the Endpoint URL.
- If applicable, enter any Extra variables to be considered as part of this connection.
- Choose the Connection Type:
- Private: Other members of your organization cannot access this connection.
- Shared: Other members of your organization can access and edit this connection.
- Click Save.
MySQL
- Enter a Connection Name.
- Enter the Host Name.
- Enter the Port.
- Enter your MySQL Username.
- Enter your MySQL Password.
- If applicable, enter the Database.
- If applicable, enter any Extra variables to be considered as part of this connection.
- Choose the Connection Type:
- Private: Other members of your organization cannot access this connection.
- Shared: Other members of your organization can access and edit this connection.
- Click Save.
PostgreSQL
- Enter a Connection Name.
- Enter the Host Name.
- Enter the Port.
- Enter your PostgreSQL Username.
- Enter your PostgreSQL Password.
- If applicable, enter the Database.
- If applicable, enter any Extra variables to be considered as part of this connection.
- Choose the Connection Type:
- Private: Other members of your organization cannot access this connection.
- Shared: Other members of your organization can access and edit this connection.
- Click Save.
SQL Server
- Enter a Connection Name.
- Enter the Host Name.
- Enter the Port.
- Enter your SQL Server Username.
- Enter your SQL Server Password.
- If applicable, enter the Database.
- If applicable, enter any Extra variables to be considered as part of this connection.
- Choose the Connection Type:
- Private: Other members of your organization cannot access this connection.
- Shared: Other members of your organization can access and edit this connection.
- Click Save.
MariaDB
- Enter a Connection Name.
- Enter the Host Name.
- Enter the Port.
- Enter your MariaDB Username.
- Enter your MariaDB Password.
- If applicable, enter the Database.
- If applicable, enter any Extra variables to be considered as part of this connection.
- Choose the Connection Type:
- Private: Other members of your organization cannot access this connection.
- Shared: Other members of your organization can access and edit this connection.
- Click Save.
Managing Connections
Once you’ve created a Connection, it will appear in the Connections Table, which includes the Type, Name, and Owner. You can also filter between All and My Connections.
For each Connection on the list, you can click the Action button to Edit or Delete the Connection. If you’d like to add a new Connection, click New Connection on the top right of the screen and follow the instructions above.
